How many individuals do you think are homosexual and really don't know or more accurately are in complete denial? How many times do you think they have opened the closet door only to slam it shut? Just how difficult is it to live that lie?
These are questions I would think any parent would not want their child to have to either face alone or dodge their entire life. What can be done to alleviate this often common dilemma faced by many children, teens, young adults...?
EDUCATION! Why is it so difficult to get this point across to societies in every corner of this world? Again, EDUCATION!
Please join me and become a part of a greater education process that is needed to bring this world to a higher understanding of what homosexuality is all about. While homosexuals don't have a choice to be who and what we are no more than heterosexuals have a choice to be who and what they are, everyone has a choice to assist in this education process that is needed to wipe out ignorance of the true facts. The only way acceptance has a chance of catching on is to accomplish this goal of education. Only through education and acceptance, will total equality ever become a reality. We can chip away at this little by little, but only with combined efforts, a common goal, and the right approach will we get this accomplished.
Tip of the day: DAMN IT, JUST SAY TO YOURSELF I AM GOING TO DO THIS AND DO IT NOW!

I agree 100% and that is what I have been doing since I came out in 1963. Gay Pride parades may be fun and colorful but they aren't going to change anyone's attitude towards homosexuality. Education by coming out to your friends, family and coworkers is the only way to diminish and eventually eliminate homophobia. Staying in the closet isn't going to do it. Too many gays are like Ken Mehlmann, they only come out when the coast is clear. They need to come out when it makes a difference.
